Best Foods You Aren’t Eating and The Mediterranean Diet

In a recent online search for the benefits of using different spices, I came across an article in the NY Times about The 11 Best Foods You Aren’t Eating by Tara Parker-Pope, June 2008. The list names 11 foods and their health benefits: Beets, Cabbage, Swiss Chard, Cinnamon, Pomegranate juice, Dried plums, Pumpkin seeds, Sardines, Turmeric, Frozen blueberries and Canned pumpkin.

Does it surprise you that 9 out of the 11 are used regularly in Mediterranean cuisine, and all 11 ingredients are regular players in Palette Dome Cuisine’s menus? Yet another testimony of the benefits of a Mediterranean diet, and of using our services for a tasty and healthy event.

I took it as a challenge to come up with creative ways to use these 11 ingredients, and will publish them in future posts. Ideas for recipes are welcome, and will be credited. See you soon, and just be ready for some beet recipes!!!

    That’s really cool.
I think I even saw something similar in an Israeli paper.
    Waiting for the recipes!

One more thing, if you tell me a way to make Sardines “kids friendly” so they can be used for school-sandwiches, you’re the best!
