Southern Style Crab Dip

A simple dip that is always a pleaser, no matter who the guests are; fresh crab, goat cheese, hot sauce and lemon zest make this one a favorite in any party.

Recipe: Crab Dip

Ingredients

  • 16oz Crab Lump Crab Meat
  • ½ can Sweet Corn Kernels
  • ½ Onion, finely chopped
  • 8oz Soft Goat Cheese
  • 1 Lemon, zest
  • ½ Lemon, juice
  • 2 Tbsp Mayonnaise
  • 1 tsp Hot Sauce, or to taste
  • 1 tsp Westchester Sauce
  • Salt and Pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven 350?F
  2. Drain crab meat from any liquids
  3. In a big bowl mix corn, onion, goat cheese, lemon zest, mayo and flavoring to an even mix
  4. Add crab meat and gently mix, to avoid breaking the meat
  5. Place in an oiled oven proof dish and bake for 20 to 30 minutes, till hot and bubbly
  6. Let stand for a few minutes and serve with pita chips, corn chips or crackers of your liking.

Quick Notes

  • Mix all in advance up to a day before the party, and keep covered and refrigerated.

Variations

  • Add some parmesan cheese to the mix for a little more earthy flavor.
  • Try different hot sauces: the dip will have a different “zing” every time!
