At the Crossroads of Fresh and Flavor: Our Modern Mediterranean Cuisine.
Every dish we create at Palette Dome Cuisine adds an exotic touch to the simple essentials of good eating. When you look at our menus, you’ll see dishes that look familiar, but that have a little extra aroma and flavor. This little extra is an important part of what we call, “Modern Mediterranean”.
“Mediterranean” itself always conjures up the sun and the sea. Many cultures have grown up on the shores of this long and slender sea, feeding richly on what the mild and sunny climate produces year round. From Spain and Morocco in the west to Greece and Turkey to the east, the Mediterranean is home to cultures that have their own customs and habits, but who also have a tradition of trade, travel, and the exchanges of ideas.
So Mediterranean can mean many different foods to different people. For us, it is the coming together of many things in the bazaar, the outdoor market, where we buy today what we will eat tonight, that makes Mediterranean cuisine such a flexible and delicious way of eating.
When we add a touch of spice to the produce of the season, preferably locally-grown, we are well on the way to creating food that is healthy, delicious, and a joy to share. In the meals we prepare for our events, spice frames the flavor and texture of the fresh ingredients that are the real stars of our dishes.
These stars are the vegetables, meats, fruits and other ingredients that come to our kitchen from our network of local purveyors. Since we routinely buy the best of the season, we have food that doesn’t require heavy seasoning or processing to make it palatable. Our naturally delicious ingredients lead to a naturally tastier and more satisfying dining experience.
Your meal is only as good as the ingredients that go into it. The cultures of the Mediterranean know this, and have passed down recipes and techniques that teach us to make food that is a delight to each of the senses.
