Ever got to the end of the week just to realize that you forgot all about those yellow green bananas you got last weekend and they turned all black? Fear not: this is their optimal ripeness for this healthy honey banana bread.





Honey Banana Bread
Ripe bananas are turned into heavenly delight with minimum labor and minimum time, just mix and bake!
Ingredients
- 3 ripe Bananas
- ยพ cup Honey
- ยผ cup Butter melted
- 2 Eggs
- 1ยฝ cup Whole Wheat Flour
- 1 tsp Baking Soda
- ยฝ tsp Salt
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350ยบF.
- Mash bananas; leave some chunks for chewy consistency
- Add honey and melted butter. Mix.
- Add all ingredients and mix till fully combined. You will end up with a very runny mix.
- Pour into an oiled bread pan and bake for 45 to 55 minutes, till top is nice and brown, and a toothpick comes out almost dry.
Notes
- Black, over-ripe bananas are the best bananas for this recipe: they are at the peak of their sweetness, and along with the honey the outcome is simply divine
- This bread keeps nice and moist for several days when kept properly covered
- Feel free to add craisins, raisins, chocolate chips, pecans andor California nuts to the mix before baking. Up to 1 cup does not require any recipe changes.
